Find Your Light Foundation 2025-2026

For the past thirteen years, my Watson MST Kindergartners have participated in a service project benefiting Josh Groban's Find You Light Foundation. Working together for a special cause, my Kindergarten class and my Music Around the World Class, sold "Cookies for Quarters" at all of our music events here at Watson this year. My Music Around the World Class also sold dvds of their performance to help raise funds for this important service project, and in an effort to increase our funds, we hosted monthly events for our Watson Wildcats which benefitted our service project, as well. These included a movie night, Popsicles and the Playground event, Coke Floats and Coding event, Winter Wonderland Art Adventure afternoon, Sing-a-Long Sundae party, Candy Apples and Cartoons, Find Your Light Paint Night, and a Find Your Light Celebration of the Arts Night and CookOut.  I am excited to announce that we made $4,355.80! That means in the thirteen years that we have partnered with Josh's Find Your Light Foundation, we have made a total of $50,000! I can not wait to see how Josh Groban's Find Your Light Foundation can use this money to help students around the world who might not be blessed with the music opportunities that we have experienced here at Watson.  Thank you for allowing me the great privilege of working with your wonderful students and celebrating the universal language of music together. I had a wonderful time, and I look forward to watching our students as they continue to "Find Their Light" and "Shine On"! Here are some pictures from this exciting event and a highlight video of our 2025-2026 Find Your Light Foundation Service Project.

Happy Summer! :)

I cannot thank you enough for sharing your beautiful children with me this year! They have been such blessings to me, and I have learned so very much from them. I am proud to say that our children have thrived and not just survived Kindergarten! While I will miss each and everyone of them next year, I know that they are all going to make fantastic First Graders. I cannot wait to see them as they work hard to "Find Their Light!" Shine bright my little ones! Your mountain awaits!

Love, Miss Todd :)

Today we celebrated our accomplishments, our friendships, and our Watson Kindergarten family! Here are some pictures from our exciting day and a link to our slide show from the year:

Endangered Animals PBL

During the past two weeks our Kindergarten and First Grade students have been hard at work researching endangered animals through a PBL experience. Our students learned about axolotl, orangutans, tigers, elephants, gorillas, and sea turtles. They studied ways to help these endangered animals and then created propaganda to help educate others about the needs of these animals. Then, we took to the hallways and advocated for the protection of our endangered animals as we paraded through our school encouraging our Watson family to help save these animals. We also created commercials which our Watson family viewed in support of our cause. You can enjoy our parade and commercials below. Leave us a comment and let us know what you think.

Garden Day

What a wonderful day we had outside enjoying our Watson MST Garden Day and just being with nature! It was such an interesting and peaceful day. Here are some of the amazing things we enjoyed learning about today: Parts of a Plant, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Planting, Butterfly Conservation, Soil, and Composting. We also enjoyed a special assembly by a rescue bird group called Wings of the Wild. We learned about special birds and were able to see them in real life. It was amazing! Here are some pictures and a videos from our fun day:
