Journey to Space PBL

Our Kindergarten and First Grade students joined forces to complete a project based learning experience about a planet. We researched each planet and created a book with nonfiction information about that planet. Then, we created an artistic representation of our planet, as well. Finally, we created a commercial about our planet that we shared with our other classmates during our PBL Showcase. Check out the amazing work our Watson Wildcats did to make planets come alive:

Pumpkin Day

     We ended our very busy week with a celebration of Pumpkin Day. We culminated our first week of our PBL with a study of all things pumpkin. We enjoyed a story about the life cycle of a pumpkin and created a sentence strip story of what we had learned. Then, we estimated the circumference of a pumpkin and tested our pumpkin string to see if it was too short, too long, or just right, as it circled around our pumpkin. Next, we reviewed our counting skills by counting pumpkin seeds. Finally, we planted pumpkin seeds in hopes of seeing a pumpkin sprout. We had so much fun learning about pumpkins this week.We hope you enjoy these pictures from our fun day!

Multicultural Night

     This month we are celebrating Multicultural Night and the many amazing things that our Watson Wildcats bring to our school community and culture.
