One Hundred Days of School

On Friday we celebrated the 100th Day of School! Can you believe that we have been in school for 100 days? Throughout the day we took pictures and made this show to give you a chance to see what fun and exciting things we did to celebrate the 100th day of school.  Finally, we culminated our project based learning unit on the 100th Day of School by holding a fashion show. Our students dressed up in a t-shirt covered with 100 items. Then, they came to school and we showed them off by walking the red carpet in our creations. Here is a recording of this fun event. We hope you like it! Leave us a message and let us know what you think about our shows! Enjoy!

Music Around the World--Session 3--Week 1--Latin America

Welcome to our Music Around the World Class! I am so very excited that your child is joining me in this journey as we travel around the world exploring different countries and their unique music. I have two loves in life—music and children— so I could not be more thrilled to share this experience together with your child. We are going to learn to play instruments and sing songs from different countries. We will share it all with you each week here on our blog. Thank you again for allowing me the privilege to work with your child. I can not wait to share this experience together!

We began our musical tour around the world today by talking about the universal language of music and how it can touch all hearts and help all people. Then, we enjoyed singing "It's a Small World" together before flying around the world to Latin America. We learned about Latin America and the exciting music that this country has to offer. We were introduced to two of their favorite instruments the guiro and the maracas. We also enjoyed two of their favorite songs, "La Raspa", and, a traditional Latin American song, "De Colores." Check out our video from our fun day and some of our favorite pictures.

Snow Days

We enjoyed a rare "Snow Week" here in Texas this past week. Despite the many challenges that the unprecedented winter storm brought us, our little ones also found time for a bit of fun to celebrate winter weather that we rarely enjoy! Check out the fun we had in our attached pictures and videos below:
