Happy Halloween! :)

We had the wonderful privilege of being at school on Halloween this year, and we decided to celebrate it by participating in several exciting Halloween themed activities.

We began our fun day by deciding to get a good laugh out of a silly story called, My Creepy Pair of Underwear. In this story a rabbit is afraid of his glowing underwear and tries to get rid of it, but in the end he realizes that he misses its warm glow and ends up purchasing many pairs to light up his room. We used this story to inspire us to be creative and make our own silly pair of creepy underwear. We took them home to attempt to scare our parents with these silly spooky creations.

After that, we took on a STEAM math challenge where we listened to Ten Timid Ghosts. Then, we were challenged to build a haunted house for our ghost using cubes. We had to work together with our team and come up with a haunted house that could stand by itself and fit our ghost inside. Check out the cool creations that we made in the pictures below. We had SO much fun! :)

Finally, we enjoyed an exciting game of "Flashlight Sight Word Hunt." We turned off all of the lights and used our flashlights to highlight the words Miss Todd called out. It was so much fun! You should try this at home!

To end our exciting day, we did the Monster Mash with our color words. We participated in a fun game where you pulled a monster out of a pumpkin and then colored that monster the correct color and wrote his color word next to his picture. It was a great way to practice writing color words and have a wonderful time all at the same time!

All the Leaves are Falling Down

This week we studied about fall and explored fall leaves. We had planned to go outside and collect fall leaves, but unfortunately the weather had other ideas. So, instead...we made our own leaves, and  then, we participated in exciting learning games where we compared them and sorted them by shape and size.  Finally, on Friday, the weather was better and we took the time to be creative and used our leaf collections from outside to make leaf buddies. Here are some pictures from our leaf adventures. We hope you like them! Leave us a comment and let us know what you think!

Seasons Sort

This week in science we learned about the four seasons and the types of weather that tend to go along with them. We talked about how the weather affects people and what they wear each day. Then, we enjoyed an exciting show and tell game where we brought clothes from home and sorted them by season. We had a wonderful time sharing about our clothes. Check out our fun video and pictures from our show and tell. Thank you!
