Education Go Get it Week and Literacy for Life

This week we celebrated college day and going after your dreams for the future. We also celebrated the joy of literature and the excitement that books can bring into your life by dressing up as our favorite storybook characters. Here are some sweet pictures from our fun events this week:

Friends of Ten

This week in math we studied about the numerals that when added together equal ten. We enjoyed watching an interesting video about the "Friends of Ten" and creating a "Friends of Ten" anchor chart to record what we had learned. Then, we played an exciting game of "Mingle" where we used number cards to find our friend that helped us have the sum of ten. It was so much fun! Here is a video and some fun pictures from our captivating game of Mingle. Enjoy!

Sequencing

This week in Social Studies we focused on sequencing. We began our study by talking about what events occur during different times of our day. (Morning, Afternoon, and Night) Then, we learned about day and night and how they are a pattern or sequence that repeat each day. We made our own day and night pictures and created a pattern video to showcase what we had learned. Finally, we learned how to sequence events using picture cards. You can see our videos and pictures below. Leave us a comment and let us know what you think.

Grandparents' Day

In honor of Grandparents' Day, we created some special hand made art projects to share with our families. We made a special decoupage cup of hugs and kisses and a tissue paper apple.  We also presented a sweet Grandparents' Day Musical Moment for our visitors where we sang some very special songs to our precious grandparents. Our slide show below includes the music that we sang to them today and pictures from our event. We are so very thankful to all of our grandparents who attended! We hope you had a wonderful time! If you were unable to attend, check out our pictures and videos from today. We missed you, and hope that you enjoy our show! Leave us a comment and let us know what you thought of our fun day together!

You Are Enough! :)

It's Mental Health Awareness week at Watson MST, and we are celebrating you. We want you to know that you matter. You are loved, and you are enough. There is no one like you and our world needs you. Here is a video from our Wildcat Kindergartners sharing the many reasons why they are special and so are you:

We celebrated Mental Health Awareness week on Wednesday, September 11th by wearing neon and showing our world that our future is bright.

Day and Night

We spent this week in science studying about day and night and the objects we see in the sky. We brainstormed the objects that we can see in the sky and then investigated whether they belonged in the day sky or the night sky. Then, we went outside to see for ourselves. We used sidewalk chalk to record what we saw in the day sky. Finally, we recorded what we learned about objects in the sky and which ones belonged in the day or the night sky in our journals. Here are some fun pictures from our science adventures this week. Leave us a comment and let us know what you think. Thank you! :)
