Gingerbread House Day

Wow! What an amazing day! We enjoyed an entire day celebrating the gingerbread man in our pajamas, and it was so much fun! :)

We started today with gingerbread stations. Our Kindergartners had the opportunity to rotate through six engaging activities where they were able to write a new ending to the gingerbread man, create their own gingerbread man, practice using their sight words with a gingerbread man color challenge, create a boat for the gingerbread man to use to cross the river, make their very own home reader with positional words, and play roll and draw a gingerbread man where they were able to practice adding. Here are some pictures from this fun set of stations:

Then, we enjoyed a delicious graphing activity where we were able to take a bite of a gingerbread man and then graph where all of our friends bit him first. It looks like the majority of us enjoyed his leg first! :)

After reading Polar Express, we had a special delivery from the North Pole--gingerbread ice men. We were challenged to use our own body heat to melt the ice and get our own jingle bell out. This was so much fun! Here are some pictures from our fun event:

Finally, we culminated our fun day with Gingerbread House Day! We made gingerbread houses with our family, and Miss Todd was beyond impressed with the creativity that our houses showed! Here is a show and some pictures from these events! We hope you enjoy them!
