The Amazing Officer Wollett

We were so blessed to enjoy a visit from the amazingly talented Officer Scott Wollett on Friday. He is  a graduate from Juilliard and has performed with symphonies all over the country. Officer Wollett has a passion for service, which he shared with our Kindergartners. He talked about the power of music and how music can touch all hearts and bring joy to all people. He treated us to a musical extravaganza by serenading us with his oboe and guitar. He even played a song that he wrote for us and allowed us to sing along. We shared with him about our love for music and how we are using music to change the world for the better by partnering with Josh Groban through our Find Your Light Foundation service project.

This was a piece from Officer Wollett's senior recital.

Then, he shared another one of his passions with us, his career as a Garland police officer. Officer Wollett explained how police officers are our friends who are here to help and serve our community. He showed our Kindergartners the tools of his trade and allowed our sweet Sophie to assist him in showing how his handcuffs work. He reminded us to call 911 in an emergency and most importantly to never be afraid to ask a police officer for help when we need someone to protect us.

The biggest lesson that we learned from Officer Wollett's visit was that you can use your passions and talents to make a difference in our world and touch the lives of others. We hope to grow up one day and do just that! Thank you again Officer Wollett for taking the time out of your busy day to visit with us and share your talents with our future leaders! You are appreciated! :)
