Patriotic Holidays--Veteran's Day and Memorial Day

This week in Social Studies we learned about several patriotic holidays--Veterans' Day and Memorial Day. We discovered that Veterans' Day is a celebration of our men and women who have served in the armed forces and are still alive and that Memorial Day is a celebration of our men and women who have served in the armed forces and have passed away. This week we created a memory wreath, which we plan to share with one of Miss Todd's former Kindergartners who has recently lost a fellow service men and dear friend. We also celebrated a very special veteran, Coach Wisdom, our P.E. coach and Miss Todd's former ETI student. We made him and his fellow service men, thank you cards to show our appreciation for their service in the army. Here are some pictures from our adventures this week:
