Thanksgiving Musical

We hope that you were able to come and see our Thanksgiving Musical and Feast today! This was our culminating activity for our study of Thanksgiving. Our students created their costumes and learned the songs and motions during the week. This video is a recording of our live performance from today. We hope that you enjoy it! Leave us a comment and let us know what you think. I have also included some pictures from our Thanksgiving Musical and Feast. Happy Thanksgiving!

Thankful Thoughts

During our study of Thanksgiving, we talked a lot about being thankful for the blessings that you have been given in your life. Our Kindergarten students created an iMovie so that you could hear about the things that they are thankful for. Please listen and enjoy. Leave us a comment and let us know what you are thankful for. Thanks!

We also decorated a turkey so that he could be saved from his Thanksgiving day demise. We created a show so that you could see their disguises. Enjoy!

Powerful Patterns

Last week we also learned about patterns. We learned that a pattern repeats. Then, we created movement patterns in small groups. We filmed our patterns so that you could enjoy them with us today. Hop up and get ready to act them out with us! Leave us a message and let us know what you think about our powerful patterns.

Nutrition News

Last week we studied about nutrition. First, we learned about how the foods that we like to eat come from farms. We created a circle map of plants that can be eaten, which are grown on a farm. Then, we learned about healthy food choices and took pictures of foods that we eat at lunch. We used those foods to make a keynote slide show where we identified what food group each of them came from. Then, we used magazines and cut out pictures of healthy foods that we would like to eat. We are sharing these projects with you here in this post. Leave us a comment and let us know what you think.

Fabulous Fall

While learning about fall trees and their leaves, we went outside and adopted a class tree to watch grow and change throughout the year. We drew the different parts of our tree on our data recording sheet. Then, we studied the leaves on our tree. We went on a leaf hunt and used the leaves that we found to create a bubble map where we used describing words. Here are some of our creations. Let us know what you think by leaving us a comment.

Lunch and Learn

After completing our farm animal study, our Kindergartners created iBooks to present the information that they had learned about farm animals. Then, we invited our Kindergarten families to join us to explore these iBooks. Here is a show of our event. Leave us a comment and let us know what you think about our project!

Farm Animal Research

During our farm unit we did a lot of research on pigs, chickens, goats, sheep, horses, and cows. In order to record their research, our Kindergartners created tree maps complete with farm animal illustrations to help them remember the facts that they had learned about each farm animal. Here are some of the amazing tree maps that they created! Leave us a comment and let us know what you think of their awesome work!

Fancy Farm Animals

During our study of farm animals, our students created Ibooks where they were able to showcase their work from their farm animal research project. As a part of that study, the children took videos of the farm animal that they were studying while on our farm animal trip. Here are their videos for you all to enjoy! I have also included pictures of the cute farm animal art projects that our Kindergartners created after meeting their animals in person. Leave us a comment and let us know what you think about them!

Vivacious Verbs and Japanese Tourists

Wow! What an exciting week we have had at Watson so far! We learned about verbs or action words this week. We created our very own action words movie for you to enjoy. Then, we had tourists all the way from Japan who came to visit our school and see how we integrate technology into our curriculum here at Watson. They enjoyed watching us at literacy stations as we played with our technology gadgets and showed them what we have learned so far in Kindergarten. One of our tech savvy Kindergartners snapped some pictures during the event! Enjoy the movie and pictures below from these two fun activities! Leave us a comment and let us know what you think!
