Our students had the opportunity to go around the school and find items that were nouns. Then, they we able to move their pictures into a Keynote presentation for you to enjoy here on the blog. Third Week of School

Some of the highlights of our third week of school include a math study of attributes and characteristics of an item. We practiced describing an item and finding the similarities and differences between items. You can view our ball description activity where we used describing words to talk about different types of balls. I have also included a picture of our attribute train activity where our students had to find a shape and tell how it was similar to the shape that the student had laid down before them. They could find it to be similar in color, size, thickness, shape, etc. Finally, we learned how to use a Venn diagram to compare/contrast items. We compared bears and blue items. We found that some items were both blue and bears.

At the same time, we were studying about our community helpers. We had an opportunity to meet some of our community helpers and learn about their jobs. Our students created a Keynote presentation which shows them dressed up as the community helper that they hope to be in the future.

Finally, we enjoyed a day with our grandparents this week. In honor of Grandparents' Day, we created a slide show which includes the music that we sang to them that day and pictures from our event. We are so very thankful to all of our grandparents who attended! We hope you had a wonderful time!

Second Week Highlights

I can sort! I can sort! I can sort, sort, sort! We have been sorting away this week! We made an iPhoto slideshow to show all of the many ways that we have been sorting this week. Watch our show and see what we know! In addition, we have been talking about ourselves and our family. We created avatars that look like ourselves. We then compared our eye color, hair color, etc. and talked about how we are alike and different. Please enjoy all of our shows from this week. Leave us a comment and let us know what you think.

First Week Highlights

We had so much fun the first week of school. We took some time to get to know our new friends and created a slide show of our pictures, once we each had a chance to take our photo in Photobooth using our MacBooks. We also learned about what it means to be a friend and what it means to be a bully. We created popplets using the Ipad2s to organize our thoughts on what it means to be a friend or a bully. Finally, as a culmination activity at the end of the week, we created a list of our ten favorite things about school. Please take some time and enjoy our projects from this first week. Feel free to leave us a comment and tell us what you think!
