Thanksgiving Musical

We had wished that you were able to come and see our Thanksgiving Musical and Feast today, however, COVID had other plans. So, we decided to share this recording with you instead.  This was our culminating activity for our study of Thanksgiving. Our students created their costumes and learned the songs and motions during the week. This video is a recording of our live performance from today. We hope that you enjoy it! Leave us a comment and let us know what you think. I have also included some pictures from our Thanksgiving Musical today. Happy Thanksgiving!

Thankful Thoughts

During our study of Thanksgiving, we talked a lot about being thankful for the blessings that you have been given in your life. Our Kindergarten students created an iMovie so that you could hear about the things that they are thankful for. Please listen and enjoy. We also made lists of people, places, and things that we are thankful for. Leave us a comment and let us know what you are thankful for. Thanks!

We also decorated a turkey so that he could be saved from his Thanksgiving day demise. We created a show so that you could see their disguises. Enjoy!

Then, we created turkey centerpieces for our Thanksgiving celebration. Check out how cute they are and read about the things that we are thankful for on their feathers!

Finally, we created a delicious book called, Dinner's Ready. We illustrated it beautifully and sang along. It was so much fun! We hope you enjoy it too!

Meltdown and Math Problems

This week in science we learned about heat (thermal) energy, sound energy, and light energy. One of our favorite memories was when we played "Meltdown" an exciting game where we used friction and heat energy to melt an ice cube. We worked in partners and raced against our classmates to see who could melt the ice cube first. Here are some fun pictures and videos from our game. We hope you enjoy them!

In math, we have been studying about addition and subtraction. We have learned that addition stories take two groups and join them together to find the sum and that subtraction stories take a group and separate some from the group leaving you to find the difference. We have been working on creating our own addition and subtraction problems using the Educreations app and the Showme app. We have also created some addition and subtraction stories on paper as well. Here are some examples of the exciting stories we have written this week. We hope you like them.
