We hope that you were able to come and see our Thanksgiving Musical and Feast today! This was our culminating activity for our study of Thanksgiving. Our students created their costumes and learned the songs and motions during the week. This video is a recording of our live performance from today. We hope that you enjoy it! Leave us a comment and let us know what you think. I have also included some pictures from our Thanksgiving Musical and Feast and from our turkey cupcake snack that we made today. Happy Thanksgiving!

Thankful Thoughts

During our study of Thanksgiving, we talked a lot about being thankful for the blessings that you have been given in your life. Our Kindergarten students created an iMovie so that you could hear about the things that they are thankful for. Please listen and enjoy. Leave us a comment and let us know what you are thankful for. Thanks!

We also decorated a turkey so that he could be saved from his Thanksgiving day demise. We created a show so that you could see their disguises. Enjoy!

Awards Ceremony

We were so excited to celebrate our Second Six Weeks award winners at our first awards ceremony. Miss Todd is so proud of all of our award winners, and the hard work that they have shown this six weeks! Here are some pictures and video from our celebration. Nutrition News

This week we studied about nutrition. First, we learned about how the foods that we like to eat come from farms. We created a circle map of plants that can be eaten, which are grown on a farm. Then, we learned about healthy food choices. Finally, we used magazines and cut out pictures of healthy foods that we would like to eat. We are sharing these projects with you here in this post. Leave us a comment and let us know what you think.

Music Around the World--A Christmas Edition--Week 7--Germany

Wow! What an exciting day we had today at our seventh morning of our Music Around the World Club! Today we learned about another wonderful country--Germany! We focused on how Germany is the birthplace of the Christmas tree and learned one of their favorite German songs, "O Christmas Tree." After reviewing "This Little Light of Mine" and "Let it Be Christmas Everywhere", we were treated to a special guest, Miss Todd's Dad, Mr. Todd. He played his guitar for us and sang, "Sneaky Snake", a song that he and Miss Todd sang together when she was our age. If you watch closely, you can also see a sneak peak of Gus, Miss Todd's dog, who loves music and enjoys singing along to Mr. Todd's playing. After enjoying Mr. Todd's presentation, we had the opportunity to create string things and washboards. We used these instruments to accompany our song, "O Christmas Tree!" You can listen to our rousing rendition in the show we made below. Leave us a comment and let us know what you think about our fun day!

Don't forget to join us on Thursday night, December 1st at 7:00 P.M. for our presentation of our Music Around the World Celebration Night! You are going to enjoy seeing all of the instruments that we have created and songs that we have learned on our musical journey around the world!

Needs and Wants

We have been talking about the differences between needs and wants. We have learned that a need is something that you can not live without like food, water, shelter, and clothes. A want is something that you would like to have but could live without like toys. games, and even books. This week we had the opportunity to explore ways that we could meet our needs. We held a class jewelry store where we learned about self-producing, buying, and trading. We made bracelets (self producing), traded a few with our friends, and then used our hard worker dollars that we earned while working to buy new bracelets at our classroom store. Here are some pictures from our fun week. Leave us a comment and let us know what you think! Thanks!
